5 Quick Tips For Cleansing Negative Energy Outta Your Home, Mind, Body and Soul.

As you probably know, Energy is everything. It’s all around us, in both positive and negative form and while you may not consciously notice it, negative energy can linger, having a draining effect on your mind and soul. But while this is inevitable, there are so many ways you can cleanse aaaalll that nasty and revitalise the energy in both yourself and your surroundings. Here are some of my beloved, quickest and simplest (mostly) DIY revitalising cleansing methods

 

 

As you probably know, Energy is everything. But while this is inevitable, there are so many ways you can cleanse aaaalll that nasty and revitalise the energy in both yourself and your surroundings. Here are some of my beloved, quickest and simplest (mostly) DIY revitalising cleansing methods.

 

Sage Burning:



Why not start with my absolute favourite. I love and adore everything about sage burning, from that warm, tingly smell to the phenomenal feelings that follow after I’ve burned sage around my body and home.

It’s no wonder that this ritual has been kept for over 2,000 years as an effective means of cleansing. Indigenous American Shamans were called to burn sage in the realisation that the dispersing of the smoke would take with it any conflict, anger, illness, evil, negative or stagnant energy from a person, group or place. As the smoke clears it takes with it all the bad energy, cleansing the energy field of the people and the space.

You can burn dried sage either in a smudge bowl or in the form of smudge sticks. These are super easy to make, or can be found very easily online.

 

Crystals:

 

For me, crystals are a two in one because not only do they easily make a space look so much prettier, they have the added benefit of working in close harmony with the energy surrounding them. Keeping crystals in your space can add huge favour in your life by protecting you from any surrounding negative energy.

Be sure to work with your crystals, meditating with them, carrying them in your pocket, holding them while saying an affirmation (or ten.) Also, remember that crystals themselves need to be cleansed. A soak in water (with some added himalayan salt if you like) is a quick and effective method. Also try placing your crystals by a window, it’ll allow them to absorb sunlight and moonlight for a revitalising and powerful cleanse.

Tip: Take advantage of a Full Moon and be sure to place your crystals where they’ll be able to soak in some juicy Full Moon goodness.

Plants:

It’s easy to forget sometimes, that plants are living, breathing, conscious beings. Quite like us (but just way more peaceful.) Bringing this kind of life into your space is a positive for all kinds of reasons. Firstly, the grounding, peaceful energy of nature is hard to ignore and a simple way of harnessing this energy in your everyday indoor life is to introduce some plants into your happy space.

Nurturing and assisting a plant in it’s growth is a rewarding experience, especially when it’s been with you from it’s seedling days. But buying/finding your own plants is an equally great investment toward your mental health.

Meditation:

When most people picture meditation they see cross legged bald men sat ridigly               on the floor with perfect posture. But if you knew just how diverse meditation could           be, I bet it would be a part of your everyday ritual and we’d all just be here, basking            in the glory and reaping the phenomenal benefits.

The first time I meditated properly I was laying flat on my bed. I’d watched this video earlier in the day and promised that tonight, I’d commit to this approach. It seemed perfect for me. Prior to this I’d tried to meditate on a few occasions, but would always let the slightest of distractions get the better of me. But that night I had one of my deepest meditation experiences still to this day.

From there, as I continued to learn about my breathing I found myself meditating everywhere, from mid yoga to the kitchen sink, even at my desk at work. I’ve found that meditation has had such a profound and ground breaking effect on my life and outlook. It’s such a simple method and can be as short as you’d like it to be.

 

Golden Light:

This isn’t too far away from meditation in the sense that you’ll want to get your mind into a calm state prior to doing it. While visiting my Reiki guru some time ago, she informed me that there was a negative energy disturbing my space (she did say what it was, and remarkably I’d been thinking the same thing at the time.) Her advice was to imagine myself, my family, my home surrounded in a ball of Golden light.

Imagine the light which rests in the core of the Earth, draw it up toward you and let it fill your space. Ask for the negative energy to be removed from your home, ask for protection for your family and space. Energy is SO real. It’s absolutely everything. From your simplest thought to your biggest intention, it’s all energy, and the universe is listening.
